9 Great Golf Courses in Hawaii

The United States is blessed with many beautiful public courses, and hawaii, despite being a relative small state, is blessed with more than its fair share. In this article, we will review some of beautiful public golf courses in hawaii, and what they offer.

1. and 2. Lanai offers two high-quality golf courses. Perhaps the better known is "The Challenge at Manele", which was designed by Jack Nicklaus, and is a course set among lava outcrops and overlooks, from the top of steep cliffs, the pacific Ocean. The second of Lanai's courses is very different: "The Experience at Koele" winds its way through the island's tropical uplands.

3. and 4. Kapalua, which is on the northwest coast of maui, offers two superb golf courses, "The Bay Course" and "The Plantation Course". The Plantation Course is home to the PGA TOUR Mercedes-Benz championship in January of each year, and features many spectacular and beautiful landscapes.

5. The Kiele course at Kauai Lagoons golf club is one of 14 golf courses (spread through British Columbia and Hawaii) owned by the GolfBC Group. The course was created by Jack Nicklaus, and features stunning cliffs, 40-acres of fresh water lagoons, and even a wedding chapel just off from the 17th tee.

6. Ko'olau golf course, on eastern Oahu, is known for having one of, if not the toughest, golf course in country. The course is spectacularly set beneath the Ko'olau Ridge mountain range.

7. Poipu Bay golf course is known as a unique and exciting course, that is home to many native species including seals, sea turtles, geese and even humpback whales.

8. and 9. Princeville overlooks Hanalei Bay on Kauai. The area is home to a hotel, a spa and two very different golf courses ("Prince golf course" and "Makai golf course") that were designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Perhaps the most noteable, Prince golf course, features a challenging rolling terrain landscape, and has deservingly been named by golf Digest as the best course in the state.

Career Planning After Retirement: Ideas for Self Employment

Why career planning after retirement? There are many reasons to keep working. You may need the extra retirement income. You may miss the social interaction of the workplace. Maybe you're bored and realise that hobbies aren't enough to fill your days. Or maybe your other half is threatening to brain you if you don't get out of their hair and find something to do!

Whatever the reason, more and more people are resuming some form of employment after official retirement.

Career planning after retirement can present the opportunity to do something completely different. If you were an accountant, now you can be a freelance writer. If you were a nurse, now you can train to be a yoga instructor. When it comes to making money after retirement, the only limits are your aptitude and determination.

Decide on the basics first.

Do you want to work full time or part time? Do you want to work at home or go out to an office? Are you interested in sales or a service business? Do you like dealing with people or would you rather work on your own?

If your own business has been your goal for a while, you may already have some ideas for self employment in mind. Do your research. Go to your local library and check out books on entrepreneurship and setting up your own business. Go online and investigate other people who are engaged in similar enterprises.

If you know you want to work for yourself, but can't narrow it down to a particular business, then again, go to the library. Roam the aisles with a pen and paper and jot down any and all ideas for self employment. Brainstorm when reading the paper and watching television. You can get ideas anywhere. Surf the internet and get inspiration from across the globe.

Take your time and do your homework! You don't want to set up your own small business and then discover you hate it.

Maybe at first glance your dream job seems like it would be too time consuming (or too costly to set up). The whole idea of making money after retirement, of career planning after retirement, is to give you more freedom, not to tie you down to a desk and burden you with debt.

In that case, why not take it virtual? If running a real riding stable would be too much, why not set up a website about riding stables and horses? If bass fishing is your thing, but the idea of a shop or tour operation seems like too much work, why not have a website that sells fishing equipment or promotes other people's guided fishing tours?

If you think that sounds unworkable, try doing a search online for any term that interests you. I'll bet you'll find people making money with websites on the same theme. Whatever you decide to do, remember that you have experience and maturity on your side. This is your chance to do something for you.

Healthy Natural Weight Loss

My wife had bypass surgery awhile back and the doctor told her to lose some weight. Her doctor also put her on an exercise program at a local hospital that is monitored by a nursing staff. This went on for about three months. after the exercise plan was over at the hospital we decided to continue at home with an exercise plan and diet. Let me tell you what happened to us by using a healthy natural weight loss plan that we decided on.

We started this plan by looking at the labels on food containers and seeing how much fat, carbohydrates, sugar, sodium and calories were in the serving size. Serving size is the first thing you should look for. This gives you a clue as to how much you can consume. We weren't too concerned about too much of this because we were going to cut down on portions anyway. We found that we could eat enough food to be full and still eat a healthy, low fat, low carb diet by choosing our food wisely. You can do it, you just have to get into the habit of reading those food labels.

In order to get more exercise at home and indoors, we purchased a treadmill. You can do the same thing by going outdoors and walking in the park or neighborhood or by belonging to a gym. We found out though that by using the treadmill we didn't have to worry about the weather or having to stop and talk to the neighbors. It worked out real well for us by exercising in this manner. walking is one of the best exercises that you can do, especially after you have been doing it awhile it gets easier and you can walk farther.

It is amazing how simple it is to lose weight. What you have to do is set your mind to do it and continue on your plan until you get to your ideal weight. What it takes is determination and someone to do it with whether it is a relative, friend or someone at a gym. Don't say you can't lose weight by watching what you eat and dieting, because you can. I did it and my wife did it. We are still watching our diet and exercising two to three times a week. It gets to be a lifestyle after you have done it for awhile. Go ahead and design your healthy natural weight loss plan by choosing food that you like, reading the labels and getting some exercise two or three days a week, you can do it also. Lose those extra pounds, you will feel better and have a lot more energy.

Losing weight can be fun and it definitely will improve the way you feel and the amount of energy that you have. There are some weight loss supplements that will help you also such as hoodia and green tea. These supplements help by suppressing the appetite. Remember YOU can lose weight.
