Fun With Your Baby on Your Disney World Vacation

As florida residents, my family has visited disney World many times through the years. My husband and I have always avoided bringing a baby along because of the extra hassle involved (nursing, bottles, diapers, etc.). The baby meant extra work for us and was too young to get much enjoyment from the vacation. We were fortunate to have a doting grandmother or very good friends to take care of our baby. And, since we live close by, the separation was never more than a few days.

However, if you do bring your infant to disney World, dont worry; it is an extremely baby friendly place. There is a baby care center in each park stocked with anything you might need including rocking chairs for nursing. The rest rooms are equipped with changing tables (even most of the mens rooms). Also, they allow a baby swap on the restricted rides so you dont have to stand in line twice (you will need two adults to take turns with the baby and ask an employee at each attraction how to do the swap, it varies).

I have three tips for you if you decide to bring a very young baby to disney World.

1. Take it easy. This is not the time to push yourself from morning to night. Enjoy the calmer pleasures of disney World; dont try to fill a quota of attractions which will stress you and your baby out.

2. Bring your own stroller. The disney rentals are too big for infants. Also make sure your child is protected from the sun with both sunscreen and a canopy. Or consider carrying your small baby in a sling. These are advantageous because strollers are not allowed on most attractions and must be collapsed on busses, monorails, trains, etc., which can be a hassle.

3. Try to place your little one in the path of the disney characters. They make a big fuss over babies which is a lot of fun and makes great picture moments.

Once, we took our youngest child to disney World when she was only six weeks old. I had some reservations about the trip but she was too young to leave with anyone else and our passes were about to expire. We had a wonderful time and had some special experiences with our little girl. Chip and Dale made a big fuss over her when we ran into them in the magic Kingdom and later, we had a very humorous encounter with Cruella DeVille at MGM Studios. As I walked by with my infant in my arms, Miss DeVille said, Pity its not a puppy; I have no use for babies.

Despite Cruellas comment, everyone at disney World welcomes babies. So, with a little preparation, bring your baby and have a wonderful vacation.

Manufacturing Water Purifier and Filtration Systems

Manufacturing water purifier and filtration systems has become a huge business in the industrialized countries of our planet. Companies manufacturing water purifier and filtration systems in the U.S. ship them to developing countries. Foreign companies manufacturing water purifier and filtration systems ship them to the U.S.

Some of these water purifier and filtration systems are intended for municipal water treatment, while others are manufactured for home use. All must adhere minimally to the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. Companies manufacturing water purifier and filtration systems for use in the U.S. must adhere to EPA and FDA regulations as well.

U.S. government standards from the EPA require two different levels of water cleaning for purifier and filtration systems.

* filtration systems: Any type of water filtration system must remove at least 99.99% of bacteria, chemicals, and other contaminants. filtration systems must also remove lead and other harmful metals and minerals. This is considered 4 Log or simple filtration.

* Purifier systems: All water purifier systems must provide 7 Log reduction of contaminants. If you have 7 Log contaminant reduction, your purifier has removed 99.99999% of bacteria, chemicals, and other contaminants.

What This Means to You

If you are directly involved in manufacturing water purifier and filtration systems, this means your products all must be of high quality, and will require constant testing to be sure they conform to government standards. Your filtration systems must all remove the proper percentage of contaminants, as must your purifiers. You cannot sell a filtration system and make claims that it purifies water. All must meet EPA requirements.

If you are not directly involved in manufacturing water purifier and filtration systems, the difference between purifiers and filtration systems may seem minimal. It may seem as though it doesnt matter whether you purchase a purifier or a water filtration system. At a glance, removal of 99.99% or 99.99999% of contaminants may not look like a huge difference.

What it means, however, is that a purifier must be one thousand times (1000x) as effective as a filtration system! To put it another way, you have a choice as to how clean you want your water. Are you content to remove just 1 bug from your water glass, and leave 999 bugs in there? Or would you rather remove 1000 bugs from your glass of water? Drinking water purifiers must give you super-clean water in even the most highly contaminated and dangerous circumstances.

Challenge to Manufacturers

Our challenge to manufacturers is to make clean water available to all who need it. Manufacturers should be working to reduce the costs of manufacturing water purifier and filtration systems so that they are more readily available in remote areas and undeveloped countries. People in those countries urgently need filtration systems, whereas we in developed countries have very potable water flowing from our municipal water supply. Those in need often cannot afford clean water, though, given the current costs of manufacturing water purifier and filtration systems.

Manufacturers need to couple their desire for profit to humanitarian compassion, and create ways to provide purifiers, or at least filtration systems, at much lower cost.

What Is The Best Water Treatment Method?

There has been some argument in the last several years as to what the best water treatment methods might be. Residential water treatment began in the early seventies, and has evolved since then into a huge industry, with many methods and models to choose from. However, not all water filtration methods are created equal.

In the seventies the best water purification methods were reverse osmosis and distillation. Both of these methods were originally designed for photo processing and printing industries that required mineral free water for their operations. In the seventies the health craze that swept the nation led to these water purification systems being marketed to residential home owners.

Reverse osmosis and distillation methods have many downfalls. The first of these problems is that this is not the best water treatment method residential use. The minerals stripped out of the water by these methods are actually healthful, and can be found in many multi-vitamins taken by millions of Americans daily.

Another problem with these methods stems from the fact that they were designed to be the best water purification methods for industry, not consumption. Therefore, thought as to filtering out chlorine, harmful pesticides and herbicides, and other organic compounds that might cause long term health problems were not considered in their development. In short, these water filtration methods hold low performance compared to later methods and filters used more commonly today.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the best water purification method is filtering through carbon based filters. Carbon based filters will get the most volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and trihalomethanes (THMs) out of the tap water. These are the components of tap water that are most likely to cause health problems.

It makes sense that the best water treatment methods will clean your water of all harmful substances, to the highest expectations possible. Multi stage filtration systems meet and exceed these expectations. Multi stage filtration systems, by their very nature, have the highest performance rate for the cleansing of water of VOCs and THMs.

These multi stage filtration systems use carbon based and other filters. The water is run through two to three stages, depending on the type of filter. For example, the best water purification system for the entire home may go through three stages, while a simple shower filter will only have two stages.

Either way, the multiple stages allow for a much higher content of chlorine and other substances to be removed from the water. This is very helpful in battling dermatological problems such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. It can also limit the risk of asthma attacks in older adults and young children, by eliminating chloroform gas from the home. This gas is caused by chlorine dissipated in steam from tap water.

The best water purification methods will also correct the PH balance of the water. When PH balance is achieved in water, it allows for much more healthful consumption and usage. It also allows you to save money, as PH balanced water helps clothes last longer, and cleansers be used in smaller amounts.

In the end, the best water treatment method is a multi stage carbon filter. To determine what the best water purification method is for you, you should consult performance data tests for various methods, models, and manufacturers. These tests will show you which filtration system is the best choice for your family.
